Role: Assistant Director of the Justice Initiative  

Status: Full Time, Exempt

Reports to: Justice Initiative Director

The Role

The Justice Initiative at Grace Farms Foundation champions the core beliefs that each individual has an inherent right to liberty and that it is incumbent upon each of us to use our will and wherewithal to ensure freedom for all. With Grace Farms as our nexus for convening the public, private, and government sectors, we develop comprehensive strategies and partnerships that are designed to disrupt and combat all forms of contemporary slavery and gender-based violence.

We pursue this mission through tangible strategies centered on policy, training, and global advocacy. Your work will further these goals through thought leadership, executing strategic planning, and overseeing the day-to-day management of specific projects, events, and trainings.  Current strategic objectives include: broadening the reach of our hotel/motel human trafficking prevention strategies including international law enforcement training programs, and working on advocacy and policy issues that more effectively combat trafficking. 

The ideal candidate has a track record working with governmental agencies and the law enforcement community, is an experienced public speaker that can deftly collaborate with our internal team, not-for-profit partners, governmental agencies, and the law enforcement community to accomplish common objectives. Your Day-to-Day

  • Work with the Justice Initiative team, including internal and external collaborators, to develop and implement the Foundation's vision and achieve current strategic objectives.
  • Assist with trainings including those geared to social service providers and law enforcement officers regarding transnational organized crime.
  • Represent the Foundation at conferences, public events, donor events, and partner events.
  • Assist with developing took kits for public engagement.
  • Assist with convening workshops, events, and partner events with a strategic eye for using Grace Farms public site as a platform for collaboration.
  • Engage with governmental organizations, international organizations, and corporate actors.
  • Prepare written policy and other advocacy materials.
  • Analyze and edit documents including reports, briefing documents, press releases, and blogs.
  • Mentor justice team members and interns with a generous, supportive approach.

Education & Qualifications

  • 10 years of relevant work experience including a minimum of 8 years of experience in law enforcement, anti-trafficking policy or international human rights.
  • Candidates must have a demonstrable familiarity and expertise in law enforcement or international law.
  • Bachelor's degree required. JD degree strongly preferred.
  • Experience working in partnerships and coalitions with legal experts and advocates.
  • Strong public speaking experience
  • Ability to communicate effectively with diverse stakeholders both internally and externally.
  • Exceptional project management skills that include managing complex, multifaceted projects resulting in measurable successes.
  • Ability to moderate public discussions
  • Strong emotional intelligence, active listening, and mediation skills.
  • High level of integrity, strategic thinking, and the ability to anticipate future opportunities.
