Tour Guide 

Schedule | Flexible (Primarily Saturday 12:45pm 2:15pm, Wednesday through Friday 10:30am 2:15pm)


The Tour Guide is an integral part of the Communications team and serves as a face for Grace Farms Foundation.  The Tour Guide is a contract position that is responsible for leading groups through Grace Farms Foundation's cultural space and award-winning River building.  The Tour Guide must be flexible and available for Standard Tours on Thursdays and Saturdays from 10:30am - 12:00pm, and additional Private Tours on an as-needed basis. This is an ideal contract opportunity for a candidate who has a passion for architecture and wants to align their skills with a mission-driven organization.

The Tour Guide must be able to give a thoughtful, detailed explanation of the origins of Grace Farms, its architectural details and design process, and its permanent art installations. The Tour Guide is expected to be able to explain the mission of Grace Farms Foundation, its five initiatives, and current programs.

Responsibilities Include:

  •  Completing all required training.
  •  Shadowing tours until GFF staff determines the Tour Guide is ready to lead tours.
  •  Guiding Standard Tours as needed on Thursdays and Saturdays from 10:30am to 12:00pm.
  •  Guiding Private Tours for guests on an as-needed basis.
  •  Attending required meetings for updates as necessary.
  •  Arriving at least 15 minutes prior to assigned tour time.
  •  Being responsible for tracking hours and submitting their own invoices.
  •  Providing excellent communication and hospitality to all guests.
  •  Walking for 90-minute tour sessions in various weather conditions.


  • The Candidate must possess a Bachelor's Degree or have commensurate experience in a similar capacity.
  • Interest in architecture and the work of Grace Farms Foundation.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills are imperative to the position.
  • A willingness to study, learn, and educate others.
  • Must possess a high-level of attention to detail.
  • Ability to execute with a high degree of professionalism and excellence, especially under pressure.
  • Friendly, warm, appreciative, hospitable, speaks clearly and at a pleasant pace.
  • Teachable spirit willing to be trained with the Grace Farms Foundation's language and vision, enthusiastic for the work of Grace Farms, as well as the place.
  • Professional, mature, and able to navigate guest interactions with ease and flexibility.
  • Interest in architecture and the work of Grace Farms Foundation.

Grace Farms is a new center for nature, arts, justice, community, and faith, where individuals and not-for-profit organizations come together to collaborate for good. Grace Farms encompasses 80 acres of open space, with an architecturally significant building recently nominated as "2016 Building of the Year" (Architect's Newspaper).
Grace Farms is accessible and free to the public six days a week, with meaningful program offerings, recreational spaces for all ages, publicly available art, walking trails, tea pavilion, gathering spaces with food and beverage, a library, and a state-of-the art indoor amphitheater.
