Role: Arts Initiative Play Associate (summer position only)

Status: Summer Seasonal, Part-time

Hours: Wednesdays, 10:30am 2:30pm, May 30 September 5, 2018

Grace Farms Foundation's Arts Initiative seeks a Play Associate to engage creative families with children ages 3 to 10 as they build skills, solve problems, and make friends! As part of a year-long exploration of joy, the Foundation will launch the Imagination Playground and innovative system made up of large-scale, light weight blocks, designed to encourage learning through unstructured play. The Play Associate will support this program from Memorial Day (Wednesday, May 30) to Labor Day (Wednesday, September 5)

 Responsibilities include:

  • Attending two training workshops
  • Engaging creative families and helping them understand joy through play
  • Maintaining the safety and integrity of the play environment
  • Program set-up/break-down and general block maintenance
  • Participant welcome/check-in

 Requirements:

  • This role requires a commitment of 15 Wednesdays, the ability to lift 25 pounds, and the ability to stand for extended periods of time.
  • It is an ideal part-time role for college students concentrating in art, design, architecture, engineering, education and/or psychology.

 Compensation:

  • $15 per hour

Grace Farms is a new center for nature, arts, justice, community, and faith, where individuals and not-for-profit organizations come together to collaborate for good. Grace Farms encompasses 80 acres of open space, with an architecturally significant building recently nominated as "2016 Building of the Year" (Architect's Newspaper).

Grace Farms is accessible and free to the public six days a week, with meaningful program offerings, recreational spaces for all ages, publicly available art, walking trails, tea pavilion, gathering spaces with food and beverage, a library, and a state-of-the art indoor amphitheater.

Each person contributes in an entrepreneurial setting to support our five initiatives and create an environment of grace and peace for the local, national, and global community.
