Role: Landscaping/Facilities Team Member
Role Status: Part Time, Seasonal Non-Exempt
Reports to: Director of Facilities
Compensation: $12/hr
Position
Reporting to the Director of Facilities, the Landscaping/Facilities team member will serve as an integral part of the facilities team, whose mission is to deliver maintain the buildings and grounds of Grace Farms. Specifically, s/he will work on land management and preservation on our 80-acre property helping to maintain it during the busy growing season as well as shape it for the future as we look to revitalize this open space.
Responsibilities
- Weed and prune natural landscape and garden beds, as well as, aid in any needed irrigation.
- Maintain parking lots and landscape with eye for trash removal, cleaning of pathways, lawns, beds, and general landscape.
- Utilize light landscaping tools: mowing grass with riding mower, working with lawn trimmers, leaf blowers, sprayers and hand tools.
- Trim back and remove invasive species.
- Spray for ticks with natural oils.
- Help with all sustainability initiatives throughout the property as needed.
Qualifications
The Landscaping/Facilities team member will be thoroughly committed to the Grace Farms Foundation's mission. An excellent candidate would have the following experience and qualifications:
- Minimum High School Degree Preferred. Excellent position for a college student looking for summer work that aligns with their background in environmental stewardship or land management.
- Background or experience in landscaping or farm management with a strong interest in land preservation & ecological stewardship preferred.
- Highest level of integrity defined as being incredibly ethical, professional, responsible, truthful, authentic, honest, and fair.
- Action-oriented, proactive work ethic; a desire and talent to forecast and solve problems
- Ability to work effectively in collaboration with diverse groups of people.
- Passion, positive attitude, mission-driven, and self-directed.
- Given our remote location, reliable transportation is a must.
- Ability to speak and understand English fluently is a must.

Grace Farms is a new center for nature, arts, justice, community and faith, where individuals and not-for-profit organizations can come together to collaborate for good. Grace Farms encompasses 80 acres of open space, with an architecturally significant building recently nominated as "2016 Building of the Year" (Architect's Newspaper).
Grace Farms is accessible and free to the public six days a week, with meaningful program offerings, recreational spaces for all ages, publicly available art, walking trails, tea pavilion, gathering spaces with food and beverage, a library and a state-of-the art indoor amphitheater.
